International School of Media & Entertainment Studies
This process began in the year 2002 with an extensive research effort. The media education scenario around the world was fully analysed while a separate study aimed at evaluating the critical requirements of South Asian aspirants was also undertaken. It was felt that even at the start-up stage, it was necessary to have a backing of credible experience, and that is how the Missouri School of Journalism (University of Missouri, USA) - the oldest journalism school in the world -came into the picture. The collaboration between the Missouri School and ISOMES has resulted in the evolution of a unique and comprehensive curriculum and course design.
Thereafter followed a collaboration with Film And Television Institute of India, Pune, the premier institute of India in Film Making and Acting.ISOMES aspires to benefit from this association in the coming years.
ISOMES is now well on course : a fine Infrastructure has since been created, excellent facilities are in place, a dedicated and experienced faculty is in charge of the academics, and a stimulating learning ambience has been created. These efforts are overseen by a powerful International Advisory Board and implemented vigorously by a committed Management Team .
ISOMES first session started in August, 2004. The effort so far invested is bringing in rich returns, many PG and short term batches of young professionals have emerged out of the portals of the institute, with the shared confidence that each one of them would make a mark in the highly competitive media world out there. The thrill of an academic session culminating and another one starting, the flurry of placement related activity, the groups of young persons coming in for the present session, the excitement is unending, as ISOMES goes form strength to strength.
Our Philosophy -Media and entertainment professionals are trustees of social responsibility. They must, at all times, be aware, sensitive and positive contributors to human society.
The Challenges- Media education institutes and facilities have not been known to keep pace with the sudden growth of the media industry. Today there exists a wide gap between the demand and supply of professionally trained media personnel. This gap has to be bridged and has been taken up extensively by team ISOMES.
Our Strategy - To provide students the opportunity to enhance their holistic learning through an international standards course design.
Our Methodology - ISOMES proudly follows the "Missouri Method" followed by MUJ, USA which means a very hands-on teaching methodology where the students are exposed to REAL TIME environment at television channels and media houses that provide the students a vigorous INTERNSHIP & trains them through participation in real shootings and productions. Students do their internship with B.A.G. Films & Media Ltd. and its television channels, News24 and E24.
